Bob Shafa, M.D. has recently joined the Institute of Brain and Spine Surgery. He has served on the UCLA Neurosurgical Faculty for the last six years and specializes in Complex Brain Tumors as well as Complex Spine Surgery. He received his undergraduate degree from UCLA in 1996 and his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. He completed his General Surgery Internship at UCLA in 2002 and his Neurosurgical Residency at Loma Linda University in 2006. He followed his residency with a Spine Fellowship at the Swedish Neuroscience Institute in Seattle from 2006-2007. He is a member of the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons and the Congress of Neurosurgical Surgeons.
